The Maritime and Industrial Maintenance Paint Division of Renner Herrmann S.A., with its main facilities located in Curitiba, state of Paraná, has just reached an important milestone: the international certification of its products by the IMO (International Maritime Organization). This is the first time that the organization – which is responsible for regulating the activities in the maritime sector – approves products from a Brazilian company.
The good performance of Tintas Renner in the IMO certification process was the result of the implementation of actions focused on environmental issues which include investments in the development of ecologically sound products, especially “REVRAN NVC WST 870”, a product based on epoxy resin and free of organic solvents.
In the result analysis, the Maritime and Industrial Maintenance Paint Division of Renner Herrmann S.A. met all of the international technical requirements and obtained the IMO/PSPC MSC.215(82) certification, which establishes, under resolution MSC.215(82) – PSPC (Performance Standards for Protective Coatings), performance standards for anticorrosion coating for ballast tanks in vessels of over 500 Tons of gross weight, and 150 meter-long double hull for bulk carriers.
