Renner Sayerlack S.A., a company of the Renner Herrmann Group and leader in the manufacture of paints, coatings, and wood finishes, has announced a partnership with the Mexican company Pinturas Comex for the manufacture of paints for the furniture industry in Mexico.
This joint venture will operate out of Mexico City and will focus in the Mexican market, starting operations in the first quarter of 2009.
A leader in the Mexican market of decorative paint, with over 3,000 fully-owned stores, Comex also operates in Central America and the United States, and it is one of the world’s largest paint manufacturers.
Renner Sayerlack, with its main offices located in Sao Paulo, is one of the world’s leading paint manufacturers for the furniture industry, operating two industrial units in South America and two others in Europe.
In spite of having opened a distribution center in North Carolina in 2003, and this joint venture having the sole purpose of supplying the Mexican market, the Renner Group finally saw an old wish of entering the North American market materialize, not only with one Distribution Center, but also with the local manufacturing of its products.
Likewise, the Comex Group wished to enter the furniture paint market with the best technology available. The Mexican furniture paint industry is estimated to be a US$ 170 million a year market, and the goal of Comex Renner is to produce locally 1,000,000 liters of paint in the first year of operation, reaching approximately 10% of the market, that is the second place in the industry.
The joint effort and strength of both companies will create an important industrial complex in the region and it is a significant step for Renner Sayerlack in its strategy to globalize its activities in the sector of paint and coatings for the furniture industry.
