2007/06/05 - Renner Herrmann S.A. Group |
Renner Herrmann leads the way and, in a partnership with CESP, develops an anti-encrustation coating to combat the golden-mussel (Limnoperna Fortunei Dunker), an invasive species original from the southeast of Asia that causes several economic and environmental damages. The invasion, establishment and growth of the species in water bodies cause serious harm. In hydroelectric plants, the golden mussel clogs tubes and filters, increases the need of maintenance and cleaning routines (increasing costs) and corrosion. In water supply companies, it clogs water pumps and tubes. It also blocks screens of aquaculture tanks, irrigation and adherence systems of boats and the clothes of aquatic sports competitors. Revran GM coating line was specifically developed for this purpose and had excellent performance on the tests carried out for three years at UHE Porto Primavera.
