Asilo de Mendicidade Padre Cacique (Shelter for needy elderly)
This institution has been in activity for over 150 years and is located in Porto Alegre / RS. It serves more than 160 elderly people in need, many of them who have been abandoned by their families. The shelter gives them dignity and comfort in the end of their lives.
Renner Herrmann S.A. has assisted this institution since 1995, when, along with its directors, helped to conduct the complete reconstruction of this traditional establishment.
When the reconstruction started, the building was practically in ruins. With the efforts of the combined forces, all the rooms were rebuilt, from the walls and roofs to all bathrooms, laundry, kitchen, chapel, living rooms, bedrooms and the other areas of this important and impressive building of more than 5.000 square meters.
The former aged “storage” is now a prized institution. It supports and promotes the socialization of these people who today have a suitable place where they can spend their days.
